Unfortunately, the bot bounced the ball to the plate…whereby the Philly Phanatic mascot turned boos to cheers by mimicking a call to the bullpen for another “pitcher.” The bot was crucified on ESPN as a wanna-be pitching machine, especially since the ball didn’t reach home…but most intelligent observers get what was being attempted…I hope…
